Policy Framework To Operationalize The Use Of Huduma Namba For Health Sector Unique Patient Identification (UPI) In Kenya

Funding has been awarded to principal investigator Dr. Jeff Lane by Academic Model Providing Access to Healthcare (AMPATH) for "Policy Framework To Operationalize The Use Of Huduma Namba For Health Sector Unique Patient Identification (UPI) in Kenya".

 

Abstract:

The University of Washington’s International Training and Education Center for Health (I-TECH Kenya) proposes to provide technical support to the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders to develop a policy framework that will facilitate the implementation and use of existing government registration systems for unique identification in health. I-TECH with support MOH to develop a policy through an iterative process anchored on strong stakeholder engagement and validation. I-TECH proposes to follow a partnership model to ensure long-tern sustainability of investments. This model will seek to build internal MoH capacity working within existing structures and develop ownership.
