UW faculty, staff, and students from six different departments have been selected to present at the 17th Annual Conference on the Science of Dissemination and Implementation in Health.
We are thrilled to announce that 28 faculty, staff, and students from the University of Washington have been selected to present their research at the 17th Annual Conference on the Science of Dissemination and Implementation in Health. This prestigious event, also known as D&I 2024, is co-hosted by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and AcademyHealth and will take place from December 8-11, 2024, at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, VA.
The conference theme, “Moving Fast and Slow: Optimizing the Pace of Implementation,” explores the balance between the speed and effectiveness of implementing evidence-based practices in healthcare and public health systems. Over the course of four days, our university’s representatives will share their innovative research and findings through pre-conference workshops, opening and closing plenary sessions, multiple concurrent podium sessions, and numerous poster presentations. These researchers represent six different UW departments: Global Health, Health Systems and Population Health, Family Medicine, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Psychology, and General Internal Medicine.
The selection of such a large group of researchers from across the Schools of Medicine and Public Health underscores the excellent quality of implementation science at the University of Washington and our community’s commitment to advancing the field of dissemination and implementation science. Their research, covering subject areas from climate change to maternal healthcare, mental healthcare, and chronic pain management, highlights the importance of scientific implementation across the full range of health and human services. We are proud of our colleagues’ achievements and look forward to their contributions to the conference and the field.
